Exclamation New person needs help!

Okay everyone I'm new here so this might sound a bit rough. My fiance' just bought a 1997 Chevy Cavalier Rally Sport. The problem is the back seat is supposed to be able to be pulled down to see the trunk. The little strap that was supposed to pull the back seats down has broken off. Is there any way we can fix it at home or would it have to be done professionally? Thanks everyone in advance for your help!

No prob. If the mounting point is still there-undo it and either re-punch the hole in the strap and re-connect it or failing that-a sheet-metal screw (short one, of course-with a big flat washer) will dig right into the back part of the seat frame and hold the strap nicely.

Ya I agree, my sister almost had to get a new back seat and she was told at a body shop that it was gonna cost $700+ dollars just for the back part. Who knew sponge could cost so much!!
