gutting out cat

i was thinking about gutting my cat when my new intake arrives... i'm only going to have the exhaust for another few months so i was wondering if it would be worth my trouble. i know it would make the exhaust louder.. any idea how much louder? i've got a resonator in there too right now so would the sound be ok? or would it just sound like crap...
thx fer the input

My cat is gutted, it's a bit lower, atleast with my exhaust it isn't annoying it's pretty sick sounding, I'm getting a better exhaust and putting on a Test pipe soon though. The exhaust that's been on the car since before I purchased it is rusting at the flange's ... stainless steel my ass...

Re: gutting out cat

Basically gutting the cat will gain you nothing, the shape of the cat restricts flow more than the material inside it.

Yeah I've noticed... mine was gutted by the previous owner (if infact it is gutted), when I get my new exhaust I'm going to install a test pipe.
