Differences led to Criticism
This statement is very true, one reason the term "ricer" was created. Someone didnt like the way certain people were modifying there car (difference), so now this person is stuck with the label "ricer" (criticism). In every aspect of life that I can think of this seems to stand true. Tell me what you think about it. |

Re: My small philosophy
how about: subjectivity leads to criticism? everyone has their own unique perspective, and even when people agree on things they still will criticize (in a good way or a bad way). that's just one of those things that since everyone is different and will never agree 100% with the rest of the world. and because of that, it'll always work out.

Its a word. Like any other word, its meaning, intent and socially acceptance are not always the same. Perhaps they should be, but in the real world they are not.
A simple example would be a black man saying 'nigger' vs a white man saying the same (and not in a quote).

Re: My small philosophy
how about: no man is perfect, therefore no man has the right to judge another man and his actions.
not that I'm not guilty myself, because everyone is...

Re: My small philosophy
Man CAN avoid judgement. This is why I am so fascinated by Buddhism. When the Chinese invaded Tibet, drove Buddhists out of their temples and slaughtered many of them...not a single word of criticism was spoken or judgement passed by the monks themselves. THAT is admirable...

Re: My small philosophy
actually, RSX-S777 buddhists tend to judge things just like everyone else. they simply put a different spin on it.
judgment is a way of life, and a necessary one at that. without judgement we would never advance in any way. we would simply be content to wallow in our own mediocrity, afraid of saying something that might anger someone else.

everyone will pass judgement becuase not everyone likes the same thing. there's always something bigger and better. i'd like to think taste is based off of experience.

Re: My small philosophy
The Monks have already passed judgement when they choose their lifestyle... in their judgement it is a better one than the alternatives.
