new muffler tips

ok i need some help. my dad is being gay right now and wont let me get flowmaster mufflers right now but i will later in the summer. so i got some chrome 3 inch wide 12 inch long slant cut tips for my car. and i need to take my old one off. i have a 1999 grand prix gt. its the one with the dual mufflers with the square end tips. me and my friend got under and undid the bolt on the cicle like muffler clamp and we still cant seem to get the tip to slide out. the clamp like squeezes the ends of the mfufler outlet to hold onto the tip. has anyone taken the tip off of theres and put a new tip on ? if so could u please tell me how to get this thing off.. thanks. here a link to the pic of what it looks like.

Soak the entire area withwd40 and let them sit overnight. People have a major pita taking them off but they do come loose with enough effort.

ok thanks man ..... but like we got the bolt off the clamp ... do we have to spread it some how ? cause we cant get it to shake loose any bit.we hit it with a hammer a lil and it didnt.... so just soak the whole area with some wd40? thanks ... if anyone else has some other tips for removal that would be great.thanks

Well the main problem is that they "rust" in place. That is why it feels as though it is going nowhere even with the clamp off. You have to try to loosen up some of the rust between the pipes with the Wd40. Then try to twist the tip itself on the pipe to loosen it.

ok thanks man. yea my dad jsut gave me some shit called liquid wrench he had for the corvette. and my friend is giving me some stuff called pv blaster ..its liek a rust killer or something and he said it works great. thanks man. if all else fails .. ill use wd40.
