Re: Back Window

If yer gonna rip that panel apart...be careful, its VERY expensive to replace, could be an actuator.

Lets talk tonight about the Aurora Club...I want in on the ground floor

I'm hoping its just a short..the motors are expensive..my questions are this::::since that one motor was messing up before you think if i replace that one they would work..and if there was a short would it be possible to burn out all the motors??? thats what the mechanic told me..but find that hard to believe

Re: Back Window

I have the same problem. My passenger side rear window doesn't work. I have the repair manual for the aurora and it has some tests I had to do on the multimeter and when I got done, I believe it is the master control switch that is bad and not the switch in the rear door. I am going to buy a new master switch next week and then I will post my findings (hopefully I will remember).

Re: Back Window

Some here have gotten good results from looking into the wire bundle in the drivers door hinge area. It's amazing what all busted wires in there seem to booger up. In this case if my theory is on target the problem would probably be the circuit for that lock switch.

Plus its relatively easy to take a peek under the rubber boot thing to check for obviously broken wires.

Well, an update. I tried a new switch and it didn't fix it. Luckily the shop allowed me to not buy it. He let me take it outside and try it before I bought it which most shops don't allow. I guess I need to look at the wiring a little closer in the driver's door and the back door. Does anyone know exactly what wires are supposed to have power at what times? For instance, what wires should have voltage when pushing the window control down or up?

Re: Back Window

Did you check the relay? Or, The wiring harness?

Re: Back Window

Ok, I found something kind of odd about my back window. I haven't really done anything yet to fix it. But my mom got in my back seat and when she tried to use it, the window worked. So I am leaning on a bad wire now. So I am going to have to take apart the whole door and take off the covering between the door and the body of the car looking for a loose or semi-broken wire.

Same thing happened to me! For the whole summer, the passenger windows did not operate from there window switches only from the drivers side. I read some posts, took the door off with some great info from this forum and alldata.com and blew out the drivers switch with an air compressor. Before I did this I checked the wires in the boot as suggested in between the door and front of car. I did not see any broken wires. Then, as soon as the summer ended, my friend tried the window from the passenger side and it worked! So far for a month they all work. Broken wire or John Carpenter movie influenced???

Re: Back Window

My driver window went out so I immediately replaced the motor with a rebuilt from CarQuest.
Ok for a while...but then it started going on strike intermittently.
Off with the panel, out with the motor, works while off the window assembly, reinstall, works for a while, then back on strike...at LEAST six times with this procedure.
Seemed like it went out when it was really HOT or COLD outside.
Finally, it didn't work one day while I had it off the assembly.
Took it back to CarQuest where the guy gave me another one.
That was about 2 months ago and no problems since.
Bad rebuilt motor?
Now the rear passenger is going out...like yours.
Whatever...as long as I can use the drive-thru.
Good luck

Re: Back Window

Same thing here but its on back drivers side window and only works when it feels like it.
This next summer I plan on taking it apart and checking the wires.

Re: Back Window

I meant to say the problem has moved to the back DRIVER side...like yours.
Works more often than not...for now.
