I am confused....

I am about to have an engine installed from a 97 DX with 35,000 miles on it on my 92 LX. It comes with EVERYTHING you can think of including ecu and tranny and EVERYTHING! Even axles. All for $410. The ONLY thing this doesnt come with, is an intake. He said that the D16Y7 intake manifold is different than mine, so that means I cant use my short ram intake OR stock intake with this new manifold since he said this new manifold comes straight up instead of to the left. I want to buy a cold air intake but what do I get it for then? A 92 or 97 civic cold air? If I get the D16Y7 cold air, sure it'll bolt up to the new engine but will it run through my chasis fine? Like... these newer intakes are designed for 96-00 civics... will it still fit mine? Until I buy it, I'm just going to use a sock or panty hose, as long as the intake wont suck it up. Go to the link below. Do you think I should buy it? an intake is an intake, right???

Thanks all

The intake you're looking to buy doesn't cost much, so if it doesn't fit you won't be wasting much money. Not to mention you could always resell it on ebay to get your money back. The other option would be to just get a custom intake made. Shouldn't cost much to do either.

Re: I am confused....

well if it's a 97 manifold then get the intake for a 97. the position of the t/b is what makes the difference, and a big difference at that. you could just custom build one using home depot parts. i have a friend who is in metal shop that was gonna build me one but now i've got a z6 manifold on the way so i dont really need it.
