2000 Cavalier Z24 Tranny Trouble

I have a 2000 Z24 with 60,000 miles. Its
a 5 speed, and just found out the transmission
is JUNK. Any Cav owners with similar troubles
out there?????

how do you come to the conclusion that the transmission is junk?

and what troubles are you talking about? Be more specific please.

how do you drive your car? do you need to peel out at every light and shift as hard as possible?

I brought it to a repair shop and they told me there
is something in the transmission that is loose or
broken. The reason I brought the car in was b/c it
was making a very loud tapping noise that the
front of the car when I would let off the gas. The
proble occured out of the blue. I haven't had any
trouble shifting the car, it stays in gear.......it's
just very bazaar to me with such low miles.....
AND I don't feel the NEED to peel out at every
stop light!!! I've driven manual's for over 15 years, I
get it!!!

It's the spider gears in your diff, they are rattling when you let of the gas because there is no load on them and when your foot is on the gas they are under load, no noise, I've gone through 2 sets, if your going to get it fixed get a Quiafe diffy, especially if you racing, the second time i changed mine it's what i did, and it costs about the same a the gm diffy, this info also depends whether you have a getrag or the isuzu tranny i have the isuzu
