Post ABS & Brake lights are on

Hi
I have a 95 Dakota problem.
Yesterday my head lights and brake lights stopped working. Also the ABS and brake light on the dash came on. Any ideas what could be the problem. I checked all the fuses and they are OK.

Well, I figured out why my head lights and brake lights stopped working. I found a large connector block on the fire wall between the master cylinder and the window washer tank. It has a rubber boot over the connector block. The bottom row on terminals were all corroded. One of the wires was so corroded it just fell out the connector block. I jumpered the bottom row of pins thru the firewall using opening in the fire wall next the the connector block.

I still have the ABS and Brake lights on the dash. My brakes seem to be working. Any ideas?

Re: ABS & Brake lights are on

your rear abs sensor might be bad it detects motion. if it's bad it'll turn the abs light on. It's a common thing.

The brake light should go out too, unless, in an unrelated issue, your parking brake cable iss loose.

try those.

Do you know where this sensor is located? My park brake is tight. Think an 1988 dakota will have the same sensor as the 1989 dakota?

Re: ABS & Brake lights are on

for rear anti lock, it's the same.
hell, it's the same on a '99...

it on the rear differential housing and gets clogged, and broken from road debris.

It the only wires going to the rear-diff....

you'll see it.

My exhaust melted those stupid things. I was pleased to see that. I'm not correcting it either, ABS sucks.
