Re: Exhaust Rattle

No But Where Is It Coming From On The Car Front Back Middle .... That Helps To Know. It Might Just Be A Fitting Try Tightening Everything Down. Or It Might Be The Heat Shield Rubbing Against It. Thats The Black Shelid Going Under The Pipe So The Pipe Is Between That Ans The Floor Board

Re: Exhaust Rattle

I have tried tightening everything, shields are tight. It seems to be comming from the back, the rubber hangers when spread seems to stop it for a while but eventually they move back into place and the rattling/vibration starts again. had it to exhaust shops and they couldn't find it either.

Re: Exhaust Rattle

I have a '98 TA and the rattle could quite possibly be the exhaust pipe! They did not weld it, but used a compression ring instead. When this wears out it will allow separation of the pipes causing the rattle. If you go to the rear of the car on the pass. side push on the tailpipe and see if it slides in. If so that is where your rattle is coming from. Good luck!

Re: Exhaust Rattle

i had the same problem on my car. but the rattle wasnt coming from the back like i thought. turned out it was coming from the heat sheild around the cat. if you still havent found it, it might be worth looking into.

exhaust rattle

My husband drilled through the pipe and used a screw to hold them together and until the screw broke the sound was gone! The sheild around the cat was our other thought at well. Thanks for the reply.
