I recently lost a cv joint on my 89 323 (1.6L Manual Trans)
Replacement no problem but ever since I've had some nasty noises and vibration on the front end and the gearshift. At first I thought it was a wheel bearing. Jacked it up last night and ran it free-wheeling and if you turn the wheel to far to either side the right wheel (side I just replaced) grinds to a stop. Plus the axle is bouncing pretty good and the left wheel shows a lot of bounce (or either it's out of round.) Does the 5-speed manual transmission have a slip differential? or has my tranny just died? Any insights appreciated |
