First full month on my program....

OK, I am 31 and about 2 years ago I had a pretty major accident on my motorcycle that put me in a bad way for a really long time. About a month ago, my wife and I got into an argument over how I was letting myself slide, so I decided to put forth the effort and actually get into shape. I have 2 young sons who I would like to be able to play with as they get older.

Anyways, the small clinic next door to me is owned by a Doctor who competes in the All Japan Bodybuilding series (he is about 65kg and 5foot 4 or so). He sat me down and explained a High protein/low carb diet, as well as Conjugated Linolec Acid, L-Carnitine, whey protien, and BCAA. I hit the gym 6 times a week, and ride my bike (Klein Attitude Comp) minimum of 20km every morning. The gym I frequent is owned by some professional bodybuilders, so there is no shortage of trainers who want to see if they can break the American.

I am up to 95 kg on the bench, I cant squat due to my aforementioned injuries, and can again do 120 crunches, which I haven't been able to do since my USMC days.

I am 5'7" and I have gone from 93kg to 86kg in one month. I have always been pretty stout in my upper body, so a lot of the weight has come off my gut and legs. My target goal is to hit 75kg by the beginning of September.

You can do it dude! Last year I was only training 3x a week and dropped nearly 25kg in about 7 months.

Re: First full month on my program....

Thats good man. yeah, squats aren't a good idea even for some healthy people. I have bad knees etc, nothing really bad, but noticeable, and the cycling keeps them in line a LOT. I even race.

My asian mate is 5'7 and weighs 98kg's. Scary bugger.
