how do you do a burnout on a 240sx manual??

an actual BURNOUT or spin the tires?

BURNOUT

1) get in car.....


2) start engine LOL

3) Hold in clutch

4) Step on brake with either heel or toe

5) Step on Gas with either heel or toe, all the way at first is fine if you can do up to step number 6 quickly

6) Sidestep(move foot off clutch pedal in a fashion that lets the clutch engage in the fastest manner)

7) Floor gas to keep tires spinning

8) Modulate Brake pedal so you use just enough to keep it from moving

Be warned, sidestepping a clutch from a stop does not let it last very long LOL...on dirt its not as bad but on the street it wears it a lot.

Start easy.. took me months to get a sustained burn out, since the car has lower HP you have very little room for error. Do it in an abandond parking lot so you don't hit any one.

stop, put the clutch in, 1st gear
rev up to about ~3000

release clutch, steer to avoid things.

If you didn't peel out, you either your clutch is getting very worn, or you wussed out and didn't release it. If you are having trouble fighting the impluse to feather the clutch (it's hard to get used to) then place the side of your foot on the clutch so that it's barely on, then when you rev move your foot to the side so the clutch goes flying up full speed.

once you break traction, to get the most out of it you will rev the engine up to 5000-6000, keep it off the redline, if you do red line abort the manuver by letting go of the gas and letting the engine slow down.

it's not unique to a 240SX either. this really has nothing to do with the car itself.
