I hit a curb today pretty hard coming off a turn, prolly going about 25 mph, the right front wheel was pretty messed up after and i had to get it towed, when i looked under the car i didnt see anything cracked and i had it towed. The guy that towed it told me control arms, spindle, and said possibly the frame and told me about 1500, i dont know if hes trying to make some $ on me or what. anyone know anything about this, if it should be cheaper, and should i take it to a different mechanic?

here's my guess for used parts... (ohio pricing ;o)

new tire $60
used wheel $125
used lower control arm $50
used upper $50
used spindle $100
used k-frame $250
sway bar $50
rack n pinion $150

$835 in parts (give or take... i'm guessing remember, but do work in auto salvage)

about $60 an hour labor (ohio)

it would take me the better part of my day to remove, inspect, order, repair, and replace those parts. lets say 10 hours

that's $600 labor

that equals $1435.... sounds like a square deal to me.

have him tell you exactly what needs done. then go shop around.

It could possibly be all of the above. It doesnt hurt to get a second opinion though

wheel is semi beat up, im keepin it as is and hiding it in the back, the tire didnt blow, so thats saving me about 200 right there, and theres possible damage to the rack, possible to the sub frame, and possible to the spindle, so i guess im looking at anywhere from 800-1300 , thanks for your imput though it helped me out, THANKS AGAIN
