Been invited as one of the 200 cars allowed to attend custom compact car show!

As some of you might know, the Custom Compact Power Jam that has always been at the Carlisle grounds was moved this year to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg PA. This was thanks to some of the show attendees in the past that caused problems the last few years which nicely got themselves kicked out of the Carlisle show.
Anyway, last year they had over 3400 cars at the show, but due to limited space this year at the new location at the complex in Harrisburg they have had to limit the number of cars that will be attending because of it.
They stated that all indoor NCAA judged competitors must pre-qualify before you can even attampt to pre-register and only 200 out of thousands will be accepted and allowed to be in the indoor premier area.
They are doing this two ways. One way is by submitting photos with a vehicle description of the car you wish to bring. Another way is to be invited either from qualifying in winning at previous key shows earlier, being seen at previous shows or possibly even from your car being seen on a web site or two.
All others who want to come would be kept outside and not be part of the premier showing and judging that would be done inside. The cars outside would be more of a regular basic show though even the number allowed to attend outside from what I understand could also be somewhat limited due to space.

Can any of you see where this is going yet?

Yup, you guessed it. I got an e-mail response earlier today from the Mike listed for the events who confirmed that my son Jordans green Fast and Furious style Fiero qualifies and has been chosen if we accept the invite as one of the very limited 200 premier cars to be part of the indoor premier judged event!!

Here is the e-mail response I received earlier:

Steve,

It's definitely eligible! The car looks great! The thing is, for indoor
elite competition I'll need you to register today. The cutoff was actually
yesterday but we can still fit you in. If you can't, I can possibly
register you at the event but I can't guarantee it because of space.
If you will need electricity for the car (since indoor cars must have batteries disconnected), I'll also need to know that today. You can call
(717)243-7855 to register for both. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks!

I then e-mailed him back and said that sadly I had no way of getting a registration into them that quickly. Plus I told him that we had allready commited to the Fieros at Carlisle show the following week and it would be very difficult to afford to go to both.
It was then suggested that we try and get a sponsor or two to cover our expenses so we could afford to go. As amazing as it is, I may have actually found a sponsor that will cover ALL of our needed expenses if we decide to go! This would be great if it does happen.
I bet my son Jordan would have had a blast being at this show and in the premier indoor area with his Fiero among all those other incredible custom compact cars. if someone wanted to interview him about his Fiero, that would be cery cool!

I then recieved this e-mail in response to my saying that I had no way of getting the registration in that quickly. Looks like they really want us to try and bring the Fiero to this:

Steve,

Keep in touch up to the event. I've got one other guy who wants to register at the event on Friday night. If I can make it happen for him, it will be easy enough to handle your registration there, too. Write me back or call me if you haven't heard from me by Friday.

Thanks,
Mike
We would obviously be proud to represent the Fiero at this event and let many attendees, news show, magazine and DVD coverage that will all be there to cover this huge event see a Pontiac Fiero among the many Honda's, Mitsu's, Subaru's, Toyota's and such.

Pretty cool huh?

Well as an update we have been lucky to not only find a sponsor to help us get there and back, eat and sleep and all that, but I made a few phone calls and we now have a few vendors sponsoring us as well.
We have quite a bit of show and go parts allready on the way from a few vendors that are sponsoring us by sending us some much needed parts to help make us look half way presentable at this huge show.

man thats awesome!!!! maybe your fiero will get some people to realize the potential in our beloved little mid engine 2 seater. maybe a few performance companies will spy it and start makin tons of parts for them like they do the crappy imports.

Well, we had a blast. Here are some pics from the show:

I have to admit that I was very skeptical about how good the Fiero would look next to cars that had hundred thousand or more in them. Well, I was amazed that the Fiero looked pretty damn good next to those high cost cars.

Re: Been invited as one of the 200 cars allowed to attend custom compact car show!

I know several fiero owners , one looks like an exact replica of a f40 ferrari another one has a agressor body kit and a huge aluminum curve down spoiler(twice the size of factory and droops low on the sides) both these fierros have corvette engines and do 11-10 sec 1/4 miles. They say they dont have great handling capabilities but straights aways makem lethal. So far jordans custom fierro is the nicest most unique styling I seen in a fierro. Good job jordan your a blessing to the whole modding community!
