I just bought an 88 prelude Si, but i didn't get an owner's manual with it.
It's an automatic...it has P(ark), R(everse), N(eutral), D(rive, and then it has an "S" below D(rive). What does the "S" stand for ad what does it do? |

the two are completely unrelated.
the S on your shifter stands for "Second" as in, Second Gear. you can manually lock your automatic transmission in lower gears to keep it from upshifting. The S in the nameplate, I would guess is for Sport. the I is for 'Fuel Injected' |

Re: New Prelude Owner....What's with the "S"??
Actually, it's a common misconception that the 'S' in Si stands for Sport. It originally stood for Sequential Injection. This was Honda's top trim for different models until the Type R (SiR) came along.
