Thumbs down truck making noises

ok, i just bought my 94 s-10 about a month ago. it was only 1200 dollars so i cant complain, but i noticed after i started driving it, that when the clutch isnt in, there is a highpitched noise comming from somewhere. when i push the cluth in the noise goes away. does anyone have any idea what this could be and how to get rid of it, it can be very anoying. o yeah, forgot to mention, its a 4cyl 5 speed. thanks!

Re: truck making noises

I've read on here that the S10 is noted for the throwout bearing.Sounds like that is the problem.

Re: truck making noises

exactly where are throwout bearings located? how hard to change? its more of an anoying thing rather than it is a problem as of right now... hopefully it wont get any worse

Re: truck making noises

um its the bearing that rides in ur clutch fork that releases (well helps in releasing) ur clutch, u have to drop ur transmission to replace it and its a problem....fix it or it'll get u in the end

Re: truck making noises

ya ill give ya 200% that its the throw out bearing. mine does it as well. if ya dont fix it and let it go on an on it can explod and can mess up ur clutch, bellhousing, maybe even ur tranny. jus replace it. its a 25 dollar part. and a couple hour job it u have some mechanical experience.
