Hey all. Can anyone here tell me what the heck the radio has to do with this car not starting? When I turn the key, nothing happens. The brake light comes on when I turn the key to on, but goes out when I turn it to the cranking position. There's not even any other lights comming on on the dash. Everything else seems to be working (interior lights, ac blower, headlights)... except the radio! This car is driving me INSANE! It's already got a bad transmission... now I can't even sell it for a decent amount, cuz it won't start.

Sound like you either have a significant power drain or you have an electrical short. When you turn the key to the cranking position, do you hear a click or a thud as the starter tries to engage? Check your battery voltage as well, see if that has enough power. Any other symptoms happen before this whole problem occured? Flickering lights? Bad smell? Staticy radio? etc....

Starter & Radio
The starter and radio are on the same fuse which is under the hood...
It is a yellow fuse in the top of that fuse box.... weird.. but it is.. If someone has any answers as to why this keeps blowing... I would appreciate the answer... is it a starter problem? |
