'99 f-150 V-6 rough acceleration

I've seen some threads that kinda looked like my problem, but I have a stick shift, so it might be different.

Anyway, I have a 1999 f-150 with a V-6 engine. I started having some problems with some rough acceleration - especially during the lower gears. To avoid it stalling now, I usually have to rev up the engine into the 3K range and work the clutch verrrry slowly to get it going. If I don't do this, it will stall, or severely "lurch" until the RPM's get into a good range. Once I get going, I put it into second gear and it won't stall, but the lurching continues.

Before, it was nice and smooth and now it plain sucks. My truck feels like a damn Jalopy going down the street. Definitely not cool. All I need is the horn with the little rubber bulb and I'd be all set. I have used 87 gas since I bought it and I don't really have one place for gas I go to.. just where ever is convenient. The spark plugs and wires have been replaced late last year. Could it be the fuel system? Someone mentioned an EGR valve not being up to par in another thread, could it be that?

I have a 2001 4.2 5spd, bought with 84k, put new plugs,wires,belt, waiting on ignition coil(causing misfire), which I think has been part of the slugishness, but ever since I've had it the trany has a problem going into 1st, like alot force to get it into 1st, I think its either: the linkage, gear oil, old clutch/pressure plate not completely engaging if this is not it the only thing I can think of is just the gearing, get back to me, I'll do some more research, oh yeah it's no the gas to my knowledge, 87 burns quicker than 91 or 93, in theory on vehicles that dont require 93 (ie. BMW) 87 gives you quicker accelleration(anybody correct me if I am wrong?!?!)
