abs - hope i dont get flammed

me and my friend where having a discussion whether or not abs was needed in drifting or not. and whther or not it was a nessesity to have. can i have your guys is out put on this?

When do you use the brakes when you're in a drift? You don't. Your EBrake doesn't use ABS. ABS is just added weight, when you need to slow down for a corner it's not a necessity. Hope you got a firesuit.

uhh I would hope you use your brakes when you drive in any type of racing, drifting or not LOL

non ABS brakes will induce oversteer or understeeer better

i personally like not having abs. it makes a brake drift much easier.

its drivers prefrence, i personaly dont like to use ABS as it seems much more challenging to me to complete a certain line when cornering. With ABS its much more easier because i can lock the fronts and still turn the wheel to a desired line, unlike non-abs where if you lock the fronts during high speed braking, its impossible to turn the wheel. For non-abs controlled vehicles throttle and braking foot work is important to much of both could be very dangerous. Some people like brake steering, some people dont, some people like understeer over oversteer and vise versa. Its all drivers prefrence

I Hate Abs.... I've Had Too Many Bad Experiences. You Can Learn To Manipulate Traction Loss Without Abs To Your Advantage.... I Know Personally I Can Stop Quicker Without Abs Than When Driving A Vehicle Equipped With Abs.

haha i remember when i asked him this awhile back. iirc he does data entry at work and it makes him type like that. so when you see him capatalizing the first letter of every word then you know he's at work..... slacking.

Yup Jspec Your Right..... I Actually Have To Type In All Caps And I Can't Change It. This Forum Converts It To Capatilizing Only The First Letter Of Every Word.

THAT IS PRETTY COOL I DID NOT KNOW THAT. SO EVERY POST NOW I WILL JUST DO IT IN CAPS! YEA AT MY WORK IT'S DATA ENTRY AND WE HAVE TO DO IT ALL IN CAPS ALSO. SO WHEN I WORK THERE IN SUMMER I'LL BE TYPING THIS STYLE

i don't know how you can say you stop quicker without ABS. that's just not true.
