i got in an accident today and messed up my front hood, bumper and side panel, the hood was bent pretty bad and i cant get it open, it seems as if the lock mechanism is jammed, any idea on how i might be able to remedy this? thanks

ps - if you have spare parts or know where i can get a front bumper, both side panels, head lights, and hood, pls email me: [email protected], or aim: cheriplumx, thanks

Re: prelude accidente

my advice....if you want the best repair possible, and your insurance (or another) will cover it, go with the dealer. i was in your shoes in february. the dealer did an excellent job and replaced my bumper, my driver side fender, my hood, my headlights, my engine bay shims, everything. they did a superb job, and i'm sure any rinky dinky body shop would've botched the job. (total cost of the repair: $4,500 [insurance company picked up the tab])

Re: prelude accidente

im thinking aout doing it myself with my brother, try to make this a learning experience. i dont think the damage is that bad, and im not worried about the car not looking perfect after im done, im willing to take responsiblity and drive a semi broken car, im hoping to pay about 500-1000 for parts then just put it on

I would recomend having it fixed by a shop also if insurance is invloved. But the best way to learn is do it yourself . Good luck with it Plum

Re: prelude accidente

if ur gonna do it urself u have to make sure that ur core support is not bint or anything. it anything looks twisted try to knock it inplace. if u dont know how to do this take it somewhere. i have completely rebuilt my prelude so i know what ur goint threw. just make sure everything lines up before u paint.

Re: prelude accidente

i got in the same kind of accident about 2 months ago with my 4th gen since i pay'd 4k for my 4th it was pretty much totaled, the fender's are still intact if your interested. Anyways it all worked out for me i ended up getting 5k for my car and used that as a down payment for a EBP 2001 Prelude
