hondatas can do a lot for FI hondas. for n/a, not as much. on preludes, i wouldn't bother if you're not puttin more than 200hp to the wheels.

ok well, i have a 5th gen im putting around 210 at the crank and i was asking becuase i herd the obd2 on the 5thgen doesnt take to aftermarket parts as well as the obd1 in the 4th, i herd hondata might be able to solve this problem or are they're any other piggyback programs out there that would be betteR?
-oooooooo nice link ace, have you tried uberdata before? |

Its true, OBDII doesn't take as well to mods because they eventually "retune/detune" themselves to compensate for emissions.
There are a couple ways to counter this. 1)You can get a p13 OBDI ecu w/OBDI conversion harness. or 2) http://www.ntpog.org/mods/fifth-afc/ecu.shtml

Re: Who here has hondata on their 5th gen?
well i was thinking of the pc13 obd1 but i herd i'd have to change more then just the harness..
and that link is very nice as well, have you messed with your 5th's ecu yet? |

I actually own a 4th gen, but its a 96 so its obdII just like yours (weird..i know)
I'm trying to come up with money for the p13, but if that doesn't go through i'm gonna go ahead do the the "switch trick method" above. I'll keep you posted

Re: Who here has hondata on their 5th gen?
Uberdata is, in essence, a cheaper form of Hondata. The program itself is free, and the only things that are going to cost you are parts and expertise. It has full datalogging capabilities, map ROM burning, and most of Hondata's s100 capabilities. The s200 has that launching software and G sensor, but I imagine you can also incorporate these into Uberdata. Like Hondata, however, Uberdata is not p13/p14 compatible, so you would need a p28 or p72.
I think in the case of alot OBDII Preludes, a VAFC is enough to get back the power lost from emissions detuning. Hondata is too expensive for a lightly modified car.
