Missing In Gear? Not at idle? Ive tried everything.
So here's the run down. I have a 93 isuzu rodeo automatic, 4x4 with 105,000 miles 3.2. In neutral, the car will rev just fine all the way up as far as i want it to go without missing. As soon as I put it in gear, the car basically has no power. (I can step on the breaks shove the gas down and it wont climb above 2k on the tacometer, really slowly too) also it wont go over 35 up a hill. So since it felt like it was running on 4 instead of 6 cylinders i checked it out. I pulled the plug wires off the coils one at a time. Each time I pulled them off the engine started to die, except when I pulled off #3 and #5 the engine stayed the same. So I figured #3 and #5 arent firing. I replaced the plugs, nothing changed. Then the wires, the ignition coils, and the ignition coil module (thing that goes under the coils.) And still no change whatsoever. It idles a bit better, im sure thats due to fresh plugs and wires, but still what in the world could be left? Its got some bad exhaust leaks, but that still shouldnt affect the #3 and #5 from firing correctly. If you have any clue please help me, im in a bad situation and im running low on money.

Could it be something with your fuel injectors, just an idea. Good luck

well I know the plug wires are getting spark, because i hooked up a old plug to the wires and its sparking against the body of the car, so I suppose it could be the injectors? How would I know if it was?

There's a fuel presure gauge you can hook up to your individual lines. If you get the Chilton(or haynes) manual it will tell you where exactly where to hook it up and what the pressure should be. when was the last time you run injector cleaner though it? Also you could also pull your spark plugs and hook up a compression gauge in the hole and it will tell you what if any compression your getting in your cylinders.

I tested the injectors by putting a stethescope to each of them, all of them were making that "clicking" sound that is described by a normally working injector. Im pretty stumped, I know its getting fire, and unless the injectors are COMPLETELY plugged on those two cylinders (or atleast quite a bit plugged) I have no idea what it is. I ran a compression check on both cylinders with a reading of 185 on both, well above the 129 minimum specified in the book. I am going to take it to the shop monday hopefully they will figure it out. I am thinking of checking this pcv valve does anybody know where it is? how to remove it? and what it looks like? thx for the help so far.

PCV valve is located on the front of the Driver's side valve cover. It has a black hose coming out of it with a clamp on it. Check that hose, too.
