Smile She's smoking :(

My 1985 Chevy Camaro (5.0L 305 V8 ) is smoking. It seems to be coming from the hood under the hood, i can see where, but not what it's coming from exactly. Also if i remove the dipstick it seems to smoke out of that tube. Yesterday I added Restore, that oil addidtive that's supposed to restore some hp among other things. Then I drove it maybe 1/2 a mile, no smoke. Today I drove it a mile, parked it for 4 hours, drove it another mile, then parked it for awhile, then drove it about 1/4 mile a couple hours later. On the way back from the 1/4 mile trip, it started smoking a decent amount.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm actually nto sure i know what oil burning smells like, but i know it doesn't smell like collant in any way. I suppose it's probably oil.

Would one of the oil additives designed to stop leaks work?

Re: She's smoking :(

i wouldnt suggest an oil additive, i say you should track down where its coming from and replace the gaskit

Re: She's smoking :(

my bronco had a cracked valve cover (i will never deal with aluminum valve covers again) i tried fixing it with jb weld, worked for a little while, it started leaking again and caught on fire, good thing i had a fire extinquisher with me, took it off and jb welded the hole side just about cause im too lazy to get new ones, and its still holding up....
