possible oil leak points

when i first bought my car, i noticed there was a small amount of oil leaking down the length the of the oil filter. i didn't really think too much about it, since it was a used car and it was probably a cheap-o filter. i installed my K&N filter and changed the oil about a month ago, and its still leaking. i'm guessing it could be a problem with the thread on the section i screw the filter on, but just out of curiosity, wat are some other places oil can leak from?? i don't want to have to replace a $130 oil pan for nothing...

Re: possible oil leak points

it could be the seal between the block and the unit that the oil filter screws on to. also could be oil pressure switch

Re: possible oil leak points

There's an oil sending switch somewhere around the oil filter, Chevys were bad about these things leaking.

Re: possible oil leak points

after installing the new filter, leak from the filter went away. its just the plug, need to buy a new one. that'll set me back a whole $1.87
