Body kit question
Can I just put a slab of putty on the body and work from there, or should I use the drawing on styrene method?

Re: Body kit question
well ya u can just blob it on. your car will be heavy and you will find you use alot of putty. best bet is to get basic shape from styrene and then putty

Re: Body kit question
I agree with everyone.. You can get complex curves from a styrene base.. cant really from a big blob of putty.

Anyone have any pics of body kit forming? I need the whole thing. Bumbers, side skirts and such. Can I also make scoops out of putty?

well you can take a look at my S2000 Progress Thread. I used Styrene and Putty:

Awesome work Vric! Got any pics of the styrene on the body? How would you mount the styrene?

Wait, do you cut the styrene into the shape you want or simply mount some styrene on the body and draw from there?

Re: Body kit question
Quote:
you cut the shape you want it (thin styrene are easy to curve, but are very fragile, so you need to have different type to work with different part of the body) Plastic glue work perfectly with styrene, it'S easy to work with.. and it cost only about 1$/sheets

I have had a little experience in the styrene and putty department myself, maybe this thread will also help you out.

Nice job!! How do you curve it like that? I'm assuming that bending the styrene is one of the most important parts by looking at you guys models.

Another question: Do I leave the styrene on the body?

Re: Body kit question
If you did it right you won't be able to get it off.
