AMT Eclipse

Well, despite all the bad reviews of this kit, I decided to give it a try because I like the car and this is the only kit of it. The paint is black cherry from an automotive touch up spray can. The paint worked out well. I added fujimi 18s and a cf hood. Still thinking of adding hood pins. I blacked out the headlights and decided not to install the clear lense because of very poor fit. I also went wingless and I think it cleans up the overall look of the car, making it look smoother. I tried to lower it bu the stance is still not quite right. I have yet to see one of the kits that sits low enough. I also added an exaust tip to the pathetic one that was supplied with the kit. Anyway, I tried to go for a clean look, not that awful lime green decal molested car that was in the movie. Let me know what you think.

Re: AMT Eclipse

You gotta give some specifics on that paint, like who its by, what primer and clear you used, and who made it?

Re: AMT Eclipse

The paint is actually automotive touch up paint in the rattle cans. Here in canada, I get it at canadian tire. The colour is chrysler black cherry number 47-1700-8. These touch up paints work really well on model cars. I use the primer they make as well and have had no problems with it at all. It also seems to be a little thinner than model spray paints like testors, more like something you would get from an airbrush but not quite as good. At ct they just switched to duplicolor which is probably what you find in other places. Hope this helps.

Re: AMT Eclipse

sk8ter, what should I do to the muffler

also, about the paint, I didn't use any clear but they do make a clear for these paints which would probably work perfect.
