Question accord lx to ex conversion (sunroof)

i have a 96 lx i want to put a factory sunroof in it. is it as easy to put a factory one in as it is to put a aftermarket one in ? which would be better ?

i hope you have some serious bodywork experience. you're gonna have a way higher quality sunroof with the factory ex version, are you referring to the aftermarket ones that don't retract you just remove the glass? the factory one you're gonna need to make sure it can retract back into the rest of the roof

ya i've got all that covered. i just need to know if it is just as easy to do as a aftermarket. i can't find anyone around here to do it. they all act like they are just trying to make more money off me and sell me one of their aftermarket sunroofs

Re: accord lx to ex conversion

only reason i asked was because some of the aftermarket ones don't retract into the roof. to be honest with you i'm really suprised you have this question if you're capable of doing this. afraid i'm not gonna be able to help you much cuz u prolly know more about it than me

man i don't really know much about that kind of body work. if i were to try it i would probably have a permanent hole in my roof. i've also herd about the aftermarket ones thats why i'm trying to find some things out before i call anymore places about having it installed.

Re: accord lx to ex conversion

sun roof to me is useless, just extra weight. However, if you really want one, the best route (truthfully) is going to be to purcahse an EX after selling your LX. A pain in the rear, yes, but not as much as putting in an aftermarket or factory one, and I'll bet cheaper in the long run.
