Launching

Hey guys for some reason every time I try to launch my car (00 gs) in a race it jumps. Any reason why or tips on what I can do to launch better?

Because the stock motor mounts allow the motor to flex under stress, i.e. acceleration, and since the wheels/tranny are attached to the engine, they jump as well.
If you are looking to get rid of this wheel hop, go to www.deyemeracing.com and get their firm motor mounts.

i don't believe i have ever felt wheel hop in my '03 GS, specifically how does it feel?

not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but what i have experienced is when my wheels hop it feels like i am going over a series of small bumps in the road, only with my front end. I am definately going to get those frim motor mounts later on in the summer!

00 GS - specifically what do you do that this will occur? I am just trying to recall if i have ever felt it, and i honestly don't remember one single time.

i checked their website but i couldnt find where the firm motor mounts were specific for the 3g eclipse

it happens to me mainly when it is wet outside. It really hasnt ever happened to me any other time. It is mainly b/c of the wet road, and it only happens when i am going slow, then i punch it hard to speed up real fast. Then it starts to bounce like non other, but if i stop pushing the gas, it will stop, and i can go on like it didnt ever happen.

That's the only time i ever recall it happening as well.

if your tranny is an auto, this won't happen often. in manual eclipse, if u rev 2 high, and dump the clutch wheels hopp. And yeah motor mounts do fix that.
