engine swap not right
hey, i just did an engine swap on my friends 89' civic hatchback si, and it aint perfect.
he recently blown his engine and we swaped it for an identical one. he has a 91' 16 valve that came from jap. we got it started but it is hard to start when its cold. after the third try it starts, but if u give it gas it will die. after it gets warmed up it will run fine. also, it is idleing at about 1200-1500 rpm. his old engine use to idle at 1000 even. on the computer the light first flashes 6 times (coolent temp), and then it flashes 16 times(fuel injection), but we don't know what the problem is because the fuel system is the original from the car. can somebody help me?? |

could possibly have bad injectors, i'd try taking the ones from the old engine and put them in this one, or make sure all the wires are correct,

Re: engine swap not right
the 1G HF's had 8V motors w/ roller rockers, if you steal from 2 of them you can put rollers in the 12V Si/Dx motors. The HFs also got lightweight plastic valve covers
![]() Honda worked their ass off to cut weight on HF's, the 2nd/4th gen HF motor weighs 25lbs less than the DX or Si motor!!
