tail lights went out, any ideas?

My tail lights went out along with my dash lights.

The problem is not related to the fuses.

I dont know what the hell the problem is though, any ideas?

When I turn my alarm on the dash and tail lights flash on, but when driving they dont work.

I had the same problem a couple months ago. Apparently what happened is I installed a cd player an one of the wires was exposed because i didn't electrical tape a small gap, It worked fine for a long time and then the wire got shook around and ended up touching metal under the dash. My brake lights worked fine but my rear and dash running lights wouldn't come on. Just think if you've had any electrical work done to it recently and maybe check for an exposed wires in that area. It sux to pay for 2 hours at 80$ an hour for a mechanic to tear apart your dash for 1 wire.

Sweet think thats my problem. I installed a cd player and everything was working fine. Cd player wasnt "hooked" in very well and slid out. Everything stopped working shortly after. Im guessing this is the problem.
