New Drag Slicks, for Fox Body Mustang - HELP

I can get some barly used Micky Thompson ET Drag 3068W 31.0/10.5-15W tires for free from a friend if they will fit my mustang. I want to see if any of you guys have any knowledge of they will fit on the back of my 1990 GT stock? Or maybe could I add some air shocks to make the back higher to get them on. Let me know what you guys think, I;d love to get these tires on.

But they would be free, otherwise I'd have to stick with my regular tires I know they are tall, but think I caqn make them work.

I doubt you have enough power to push those tall slicks, It'd be almost pointless. Just get some 295 60 15 and drop the tire pressure to like 15lbs and run it like that....

Even with a 28 inch tall slick, you would most likely have to do some trimming on the front of the wheelwell lip and maybe some clearancing with a hammer inside the wheelwell. 28's will physically fit (barely)without doing this while the car is sitting, but the tire will grow as you go down the track and will rub. 31's are too tall for stock mustang wheelwells.

I have decided on getting nitto 555r 275x40x17 so my my count that should be a 26x10.8 tires, I just want to verify these should be fine on my 90 GT.

31's are way too fuckin big, don't even think about it. You'd need to minitub it at a BARE minimum, a full tub would fit em better. If you're running 26" tires and 3.73 gears now, to get the same torque multiplication you would need to run 4.56 gears with 31" tires.

Sell them to me! I'll take em. I got gobs of space in my '69, and my rear leafs are on the top rung in the shackle, so I can probably gain another inch on the top. If you're interested, email me at [email protected], and include where you live... thanks!
