Close but no cigar

Well after 4 months of not having a car, you get a little edgy. I've been looking at mustangs for a while and i thought this one was great, a little high on the mileage but hey. I know its a V6, but being 17 my parent have many rules. But any ways take a look at it. http://www.autorevolution.com/inv/ve...fby=dealersite
I ran a carfax report and it checked out great. My dad and I testdrove it but it didnt sound to great. Plus the fact the soor was drooping down a bit. The overly loud road noise coming from the rear end wasnt too bad for me. And Ithogught hey the door can be adjusted. So today I had a car inspector take a look at it. It turns out that the car was an accident but not reported and they did shoddy job fixing it. It was a side impact, and the drivers door and fromt femder were replaced but where the door hinges bolt up to the frme, that piece of the frame was twisted, dimpled, pushed back and some other stuff. because of that the side skirts or trim or whatever had a half inch gap and the seal was broken and there were already signns of water intrusion. And the loud noise I heard that was the bearings in the differential. He said that it sounds like its been going a while and to replace it would be anywhere from 1400 to 800. I wanted to put an LSD in it and asked him about that and he sais that I'd still have to replace that stuff. (I'm mechanically inclined but learning as fast as I can. Also the A/C compressor didn't enguage everytime and here in Texas you need A/C. I love the paint ob on it but its cheap, the clearcoat is starting to peel up as is the paint flecking. Oh well it was worth the 120 bucks to have it inspected.. Since I'm on a budget and somewhat technicaly challenged I told the dealer no thanx and went home saddened. Just a question tho, do Gt's have factory LSD, and is so, how hard would it be to pull one from a junked one and transplant to V6? bolts and brakeline or what?

Re: Close but no cigar

The car is way too much especially for whats happened to it.. I bought my 1997 GT with good solid mods, black leather, standard, 78k miles for 6,800 from an older guy who was buying a vette. You just need to shop around go to www.autotrader.com

Pass

I imagine you've passed on this one by now. Too much money... looks like a rip. Stick to a V-8, just be cool with it. I'd recommend spending that amount on a clean 5.0.
