Re: may be selling

Sad, very sad, Its a beautiful car.

I have decided I won't ever sell mine, at least for an extremely long time. I have 54,000 miles now and only drive it less than 10k/yr.

I'm going keep it because it was such a significant model for the now dead Olds.

Re: may be selling

If you don't mind me asking, why are you selling?

I'm up to 80K on my '98 (it only had 27k on it when I bought it a little over 3 years ago). I plan on keeping it as my daily driver for another year or so, then will hang on to it (I'm already starting to pick up replacement/spare parts for it - I'm never getting rid of this car). I may end up with a used '02 or '03, or a Bonnie GXP or a GTO as my daily driver (mother-in-law is a GM retiree, and I've got GM Card $$$ like you wouldn't believe, so buying new is an option for me :-)

Re: may be selling

I'm may be paranoid cuz honestly, I love the car!! Probably the most enjoyable car I've ever owned

Todd If I'd done to mine what you've done to yours I'd probably not even consider selling.

I don't have to many payments left ...if I can just get past that then I can sink some money into it. We'll see

Re: may be selling

Yeah ..NH woohoo!! lol

This car has everything I want and more and its unique.

I thought I'd like a honda of some sort but they feel like a go-cart after driving my Rora. My buddy just bought a 2001 Saab turbo conv. and i think its a peice of junk.

For the money I don't think I'll find anything that'll even compare.

I like the late 90'S Seville STS but they want to much money for them all beat up.

Think I'm stuck with my beautiful Rora. I only put about 10k a year on it. It'll be paid off several months from now and perhaps then I'll be able to do some modes and stuff to it and be happy

Re: may be selling

And therein lies the problem, where to go from here, after being treated to this car (for the price of purchase!) how do you top it?

STS? bang on about cheaper = beat up
Park Avenue? To soft
Bonneville GXP? I think so..hello $$$$

You may have to go German before you find something comparable...Audi A6, BMW 5, Merc C class etc

Re: may be selling

I think you're right RoraStar - when I took my 98 in to check the A/C they gave me a loaner for the day, a 95 Lumina.
I cannot think of the words . . . . . .

Re: may be selling

I say stick to the car, all cars have problems, maybe the aurora is more costly, but I think keeping it rather than selling it for what its worth at kbb is a better deal for you. It has like the same retail value as a 94 civic, thats a joke to me.

Re: may be selling

Tell me about it, dred98. I went from a 96 Lumina (at least it was an LS with leather) to the Aurora... I've put more miles on the Aurora in 3 years than I did in 5 with the Lumina. Not that it wasn't a good car for me (basically put in an alternator and a water pump in 5 years (besides oil changes/brakes/tires) and 70+k miles. But still.

You're right, I know this car has spoiled me for life... one of the reasons I'll never part with it. I'm probably down to a used 02-03, or either a Bonneville GXP or a GTO (going down a slightly different path)...

Re: may be selling

The 95 they loaned me was rather basic - I'd rather not think about it . .
I bought a GTO in 1970 - 350 h.p. 400.c.i. - the Aurora is the only thing I've had since then that comes even close to the get up and go of the goat.
