Rotor Warpage?

I have had nothing but trouble with my rotors warping like crazy. I stopped in to mitsu the other day to see if they could resurface them for me. The guy told me that they didnt have the machine to do that, and that the resurfacing might not even help. Then a machanic came over and asked me who rotated my tires, and I said me. He then asked me if I used a torque-wrench to put the lugs on. I of course didnt cause I dont have one. He told me that, that was the problem that they must be torqued down or the rotors will warp. If I take the tires off and check the rotors and then torque the tires on will that solve the problem or do I have to get new rotors.

There is a reason Mitsubishi dealerships are called Satan.they will find every little thing they can to not do the labor, and even flat out lie to customers.

Mitsu stock rotors suck ass. I would replace them if I were you if possible, with either Powerslot or EBC rotors.

Re: Rotor Warpage?

Yah I've been looking at the powerslot. I think I'm going to nurse them until I can afford to get the BBK. Once I finish school at the end of the week I can start making my car better! Woo Hoo!!! One week left!

I must disagree, anyone from long island will agree, sunrise mitsubishi has by far the best service department around, and all the staff is more than kind ( even after you've purchased the car, lol).

sry jones i totally forgot to include in my post - i'd go to the nearest pep boys or w.e and see about getting the rotors cut. i'm not 100% sure about the fee, i know it's next to nothing like $15 or something, but definetly check it out.

Re: Rotor Warpage?

Yah I just actually got back from pepboys. Its $8 if you pull the rotor, and $28 if you leave them on and have them do it. Needless to say I'm pulling my rotors tomarrow.
I dont doubt that they are Kind, but the Two Mitsu dealerships I've ever delt with are a bunch of Morons. They are nice enough guys, but dumber then a box of rocks, and rocks are pretty damn dumb. Haha thanks though!

I was making a generalized statement, as that is the first one I have heard positive comments on, from anyone.

If you persuse other DSM boards such as dsmtalk.com or dsmtuners.com, you will see that

Re: Rotor Warpage?

I used to have a Saturn. They do good work, but the people at the counter try to dumb every thing down to you, thinking you know nothing. My Saturn was a Piece, 8 alternators in three years, but there was nothing wrong with the car! Right!
Every time I got towed back they were like there is a problem with the electrical charging system, we are looking into the problem and we will get back to you. They would come back and give me this long shpeal about how they found the problem and how they were going to fix it. After they were about half way through what they are saying, I"m like so your changing the alternator. Shuts them up every time. Sorry its so long.

Re: Rotor Warpage?

I just picked up Powerslot, if anyone is interested in those, and I have EBC Slotted/Drilled rotors too.

I can get you EBC GreenStuff pads and Rotors for $320 shipped.

Re: Rotor Warpage?

Its amazing what a resurface will do to a rotor. My brakes feel like they are brand new. I should have done this a while ago.
