Question Which camber kit do you recommend?

I'm planning to drop my 99 Accord sedan 2". I know I need a camber kit for this drop. What do you guys recommend? How is the Spec Prod or Ingalls camber kit? If you also know where to get these for a good price, please let me know where.

TIA

When I drop mine.. I am going to leave the camber alone and let them lean a little... All it will do is make the car more stable in the turns and maybe very slightly ware the tire more on the inside than the out... I don't see it worth the $$$ for me... But thats just my opinion.... I have a friend with a Zfocus dropped 2.5 without the camber adjustments... with koni's that thing drive like you would not believe!! its like a jumbo gokart!!!

I believe that true good camber and alignment is very important.

i noticed that i got better acceleration and braking when I got my camber fixed. I also notice that my driving in the rain was better as well.

I spent a lot of good money on my suspension since it's so important to the car.

The camber kit that I got is from Ingalls and it's a 1.0 degree correction.
I could have gotten the extreme camber kit, but it's dangerous to do so...at least for my year.
The reason for this is because the fenders for my 4th gen Accord are small and using an extreme camber that corrects up to 3 degrees will actually push out the control arm so far that it will hit the fenders and I would not get the correct suspension travel.

My camber kit is pushed out all the way with the control arm shaved a little just so I get the correct suspsension clearance. Anymore camber adjustment, and I not sure I would be able to drive the car without a banging sound of my control arm.

Anyways...just double check with your Accord.
I know your year is different!!!
Tell them your situation and if it's a good alignment shop, they will know what to do.

I went to a body shop that specialize in performance cars, so it was a normal thing for them when it came to my Accord.

Also note that with your camber kit, you will get some new bushings and they are not the regular rubber ones...they are polys and if you don't grease them up good...they will squeek like mad!!!! I know from experience

WELL...GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!
Let me, us, know if you have anymore questions.

P.S. Also check your TOE!!!! after your lower your car, that will change as well.

I don't think you would be saying that if you had 16's or 17's on your car with a 2" drop. I had stock 15's and with bad camber they both had really bad wear in less then a year.

All cars are different, Honda's on the other hand have really bad camber once lowered.

GOOD POINT!!!!

once you get those expensive rim/tire combo, you don't want to waste it all on premature ware!!!!

Yeah, but I have to stick with my hubcaps/ stock tires for a while. Those Tein SS kinda made me broke:o

Oh yeah...I got new questions:
Should I get them installed when I get my coilovers installed or should I wait to see what cambers I really need first? I don't really want to wait cuz of the uneven wear of the tires.
Should I let my friends install the cambers too when they install the coilovers or get it done by a professional? They have dropped cars before but this is the first time that they are going to coilovers and never installed a camber kit before.

There's no performance shops or good alignment shops here. I was just thinking to get my alignment done at Firestone since there isnt a good shop here.

Hello
Let see.....the decision...letting your friends or professional install your suspension?!?!?!?!
It depends. I don't know your friends, but if they lowered cars before, this should be a piece of cake!!! I speak from experience So let them do it if you trust them.

What type of coilover system do you have?!?!
Is it a true coilover or a coilover sleeve set up???
Either way, they are both easy to install.
Check out my website
http://www.geocities.com/natcc99_99/struts.html
The point is...if you have true coilovers, it's easy because it's one whole unit. You just pop out the old and put in the new.
With the coilover sleeves, you need to take off your struts and place the sleeves over it...then put it back on the car.
let me know if you need more help or extra details [email protected]

About the camber kit....it depends on your situation.
Because you are getting coilovers, the height of your car will be adjusted and you first need to find the correct adjustment before you can get your alignment.
TRUST me, when you get your coilovers, you are going to spending your weekend lowering and raising your car back and forth until it's perfect!!!

Once you find that height that you like the most, get a check up on your alignment measurements. Then you will be able to find which camber kit will best fit your situation.
yes I know it will cost some bucks, but at least it's done right.

As for the camber kit installation....you can actually do that yourself.
I put on my front camber kits in my own garage. You just need to know what you're doing.

good luck!!!

SURE...glad to help out

AHHH yes...that is a good set.
I haven't had any personal experience with them, but they should be good.

Settling?!!?!?!?!
there is a lot of talk about whether or not springs settle. Some people say yes and some say no.
I found that my springs settled a little, but it's not by much.
Good springs will not settle a lot, at least that is what I hear.

I guess you should try to settle your springs.
Don't worry, it doesn't require any work...just drive around!!!
You will only notice probably about 0.25 inch difference...maybe less.
Because it's so little, it's not really a big issue

best of luck
