hmmm, well, i am sponsored but i am not sure if i am the average case. i had just purchased a stock (except for a k&n) car and someone that i knew in the local 3/S group was starting a shop and i had plenty of money for parts and enthusiasm to work on it too. basically i kind of have a partial sponsorship, i get parts for cost or only a little bit over cost and i have been getting a ton of free labor. in return, i am putting a sticker on my back window and spreading the word that they are building my car (so when i run crazy ass low 1/4 mile time people will know what is up ) and spreading the word that they are a good company. hope that helps a bit.

i doubt it. our car is discontinued and i think it is a platform that they would not jump on anyway. if you go to 3si.org and do a search for a guy called palamarap he might be a good person to talk to. he had all sorts of stuff from greddy and maybe a partial sponsorship or knew some people who worked for them or something.

to get a sponsorshif from a BIG company like greddy you really need to put a lot of effort into it anyway. remember it needs to be in THEIR best interest to do it and you are competing against literaly millions of other people who want to get a sponsorship. you have to go to tons of shows all over the county/world and come up with very detailed parts lists, goals, timelines, people in magazines and such that say they will put such and such about your car in the mag if you do such and such to it. it is a very involved process if you are really serious about it. also, you have to bend over backwards for them. if they want the car pink, and you HATE pink, well you better start likeing pink and not complain about it. if you are going to school/work and you can't drop everything and put your car on a trailor and drive it across the country to a show or a race event, don't count on getting a sponsorship from a big company. also it generally helps alot if you have allready built an award winning show car or a 10 second car or something. then they will take you a lot more seriously. big companies are not interested in anything but their own profit. show them that you can help them with making more money is the only way you will get a sponsorship from them.
