Angry Distributor

I have a JDM b16a in my CRX si. The distributor is dead Can I use a different distributor? A friend gave me a Performance Distributor, Acura Integra GSR 1992-95 (JDM B16A) (Morroso)? Is there any way to get around the connection issues?

Re: Distributor

Specify connection issues. Do you mean the electric plug, or the connection to bolt it to the motor?

If you mean the plug, yes, you can get the manuals for both and just repin it to match. If you are talking about it not bolting up (even though it should), then I would just get the right one.

Hello, earth to you, the OBD 0 and OBD I plugs are different, so no, it won't work, unless you repin it.

No shit, but don't go slinging the "All B series parts interchange", because they don't. Many parts from one B series to another, especially when you go from OBD generation don't work without modding them.

Fuck you.

When someone ask a question, and they get bullshit halfassed information, it can fuck them up with money and time. If you're happy handing out bullshit, then fine, but get used to it. True to a point doesn't fucking cut it, and is hardly addressing the exact question at hand.

Re: Distributor

TF it isnt ! some people get confused when crazy ammount of facts are thrown at them at one time because tehy dont speak tech terms...a relativly simple question requires a relativly simple answer..if more info is needed then the thread starter will ask !!! just becacuse we give advice diff. doesnt mean i dont know shit !!! i never said i know everything...i never said i was a fuckin ASE master Tech !! but neither are you and were all here for the same reason and if theres something stated by someone that is found by another to be unfactual ( which has yet to happen with me ) than the PURPOSE OF A BOARD is to converse the issue with the other member of the fact or problom at hand ..that way people can exchange opinions and learn something !! not start ripping up and picking apart everything they have said to as if make them seem like an idiot....i will admit some questions are stupid and pointless and need to be addressed accordingly..... But i think you forgot why you are on here and just wanna make yourself feel smarter..when in all realness im sure my car runs around you !! and if you ever talked to me in person like that i would be spending yet another drunk night in jail from smashing your face on the concrete... so sit back..chill out and be cool about shit you wanna talk about somethin..then lets do it...but cool the fuck down !!!!!!!!!!!!

What? Like this?

Hmmm...not factual

The guy might have half a brain, since he seems to already have a swp in his car (maybe he's a mongloid, and had someone else do it, I don't know, benefit of the doubt) So the terms OBD, and repin should be in his vocabulary, nothing over teched here.

And yes, I am here because I like helping people with their cars, when I am not working on my own. But helping means giving useful information when I can, and not just posting half an answer as a fact when it's not.

Re: Distributor

You CAN NOT PLUG A FUCKING OBD 0 DISTRIBUTOR INTO A FUCKING OBD I PLUG, THAT'S HOW THEY ARE DIFFERENT. So what you said is not correct. It has to be modded.

Re: Distributor

When I did my b16 swap I my distributor was also trash, But i didn't know that at first. When I originally put the engine in i had to use my OBD1 engine harness on my b16 that was set up for OBD0. The distributor came with a cut harness and had all the plugs, so I just cut the wired and rewired it to make it OBD1 compatible. Anyway... to make a long story short. The OBD0 distributor was crap, so I took my original distributor off my B18 and had to cut off a leg so it would bold up, because the pattern was different. Then I just put wired the plugs back to how they were on my OBD1 harness and it runs just fine. So yeah... you can interchange the distrubutor but you will have to cut a leg off and depending on what plugs are on your harness you might have to do some rewiring.
