4spd Transmission help

Well lastnight sucked, in the rain i went to spin the tires just a bit and then all the sudden nothing.. car coasted to a stop and no gears worked. I noticed the speedo was moving but not the car. Now one of my mos on going probs with that car was that the throw out bearing was shot. anytime i disengaged the clutch u would here a loud whinding sound. but wasnt much of a prob, and then sumtimes on a hot day or after a lil bit of driving it would have really rough shifts with grinds and not being able to shift in a gear. Im a broke joke right now and this couldnt have happened at a worst time and i was hoping if u ppl thought it was the clutch? yea i know it be smart to do 5spd conversion but im just strapped wit cash.
thanks
Dustin

i have a 90 hatch, and when my 4 speed tranny went out, all i did was take a 5-speed si tranny from a 91 crx and switched it right in.

Re: 4spd Transmission help

sounds like a busted axle to me, I bet your trans is fine. Inspect your axles, if one is busted its a $60 fix, and it takes less than an hr, 30min if your good.

i think its the tranny, cause when i had my 4 speed, i was driving shifted into third, then all the sudden i had no gears. I guess he could of snapped an axle, but i am leaning towards tranny
