Question chrome...clearcoat

i was building my lexus ls430 super vip woofer model and i had painted it black but i forgot 2 clearcoat it before i put tha chrome parts on tha front of tha car if i clear coat it now will it hurt those parts?

nto sure, but seeing how clearkoat ate my decals so badly i wood defintely try to figure it out, or try spraying the tree first

dont do it, I've clearcoated tamiya marker chrome silver and shines went off due to the clearcoat!!. About decals... I clearcoat over decals, but decals must cure for a week an start with mist coats to protect the decals, after this... no problem, but again, you arent going to get more shine if you clearcoat chrome parts.

yes... putting clear coat on chrome part won't make it shine.. but it makes it less shiney.. i did that to the wheels.

My experiance shows that if you clearcoat chrome, ju get silver - the shine of chrome is gone.
