Body Kit Fitment problem?? Please HELP!!!

I have a 99 civic si and i just recently got my rear bumper painted and put on but there is one problem. The bumper body line sticks out or in other words bows out on one side. I can stick my finger behind the bumper thats how far it sticks out. How can i fix this myself???

Another testement as to why you should not buy aftermrket body kits. Not only do they look GAUDY and stupid, 9 times out of 10 they dont fit right.

Re: Body Kit Fitment problem?? Please HELP!!!

what manufacturer is the rear end from ?? if you payed 300 or less for it then i assure you its a shit deisgn from a knock off mold and there isnt much you can do about it besides maybe tryin to pull it in with a countersunk screw or 2..but this in turn can crack the fiberglass wide open..and if not then the stress of pulling a cheap kit in can crack it as well...basically bro you needed to have test fit this bumper and made and drilling or fitting adjustments before you had it painted !!! welcome to the world of people who dont wanna spend enough money and go the cheap route !!

Usually happens if the 5 plastic studs holding bumper and the corners are pushed too far in when fixed. Could also be a bad fitting on the vented side. The plastic spacers don't help either. Drop the bolt under the arch, lift the side of the bumper off the spacer, and on one side you could push the corner back (it's only held between two pieces of metal) and only if the rear plastic studs have some free movement. You could additionally fit extra side spacers (3 in total) which seem to hold it better (can only be done on the side without the air vent). Keep an eye on it, if it expands with the Heat, it's a bit more tricky. Take car on the corner else the paint will crack with lots of movement. Seems the responses were from other Guys driving the bog standard off the factory shelf car. Shame on you - long live Max power and people with vision.

I have had a few kits in my life and the expensive ones needed as much modifications as the not so expesive one I have on my 88 si. Fiberglass most of the time needs some fitment mods. Like Tranzlogic said use countersunk screws. You may have to V notch the inside corners to relieve some stress.
