Re: Brake Calipers

Make sure you get the heat resistant paint up to 900 degrees I think.

Re: Brake Calipers

I just got done doing it. They sell caliper paint at Advanced auto for $15. Don;t waste your money! I bought the cheap spray can($1.50) and did my drums on the rear and calipers on the front. I used the cheap paint and i friend bought the actual caliper paint. Both are doing great. No chipping or anything. BEFORE you paint, be sure to at least wire brush everything first. I happened to sand blast my drums. THen tape what needs to be taped off. If you get paint on the rotor, don't worry about it. THe first time you hit the brakes it will come off. (Do tape off the rotor though) Good Luck! Is looks great when done.

Re: Brake Calipers

Don't you know?!?!? The paint fills in the microscopic cracks. This makes the caliper smoother decreasing wind resistance. Also, the paint absorbs warm air from the pad which also reduces drag and increasing horsepower. This is almosta guarnteed 15 h.p. I thought everyone knew that. You know, they sell performance stickers for your car too. Depending on what part of the windshield you put them on, the more porformance gain. I don;t want to get into the details though.

Re: Brake Calipers

powdercoat.... *sigh* ive had to clean up so many do it yourself jobs where people screwed up the brakes by spraying or worse brush painting their calipers, it looks sooooooo bad. if youre gonna do it, do it right, take them OFF the car, take everything off that you dont want colored, sandblast and clean them, then powdercoat and bake them, the finish will not heat and crack off, and it looks a million times better than a spray can. granted its more expencive, but its kinda like buying your fiance a plastic ring.
