Re: Did u know?
When Mitsu first started shipping the 3G's over to the US, they complied with either Cali state emissions or Fed spec emissions. For example, Cali has the most stringent emissions, alot more so then say, North Carolina. And those states who did not adopt Cali's emissions instead met the Fed-Spec requirements. Cali spec has an extra cat, called a pre-cat, whereas the Fed Spec does not. That cat is the reason why there are different power ratings. And in Mid 2001, all 3G's were sold as Cali-Spec, so now you are not even able to get a Fed-Spec version of the car.

Re: Did u know?
Johnny, how can I boost it to a 270 with turbo?
Is there a package or individual upgrades? Oh, and since I have your attention... I want to fill in the tire space better on my 2000RS, what size rims should I get, 16" or 17." Or is there more information you have that I should know. Thank you. |

Re: Did u know?
Accelerated AutoSports Inc out of Florida makes a turbo kit that puts down 264whp/284wtq at 8.5 psi. The crank HP of that kit is ~320HP.
www.acceleratedautosports.com Rim wise, I am not sure if a larger rim will fit in the spare tire well. If you remove the jack, you may be able to put a 16" in there, but do not quote me on that. |

llol for fuck christ 2000 RS and GS's can take that much boost o_O? god damn here I thought i had a peice of shit with my 2000 eclipse. Ive been searching for a 240SX or a Integra or 200SX SER or a GSX well I been looking for tonsa shit lol. But damn o_O Maybe I should reconsider. I just dont like the way the fucker handles any tips? And why does it seem the RS can take more boost then the GT? The eclipse was mine but my moms car blew up and I got my license suspended so now we are looking for something for myself. Soooooo should she just get something and I keep the eclipse ooooooooooorr what? I kinda wanna establish credit though by financing a car.

as much as i love the eclipse, i haveta say, build your credit, otherwise you may regret all this later in life when you can't buy a house, or get the nice car you can afford or whatever. i was 17 when i got my eclipse, because the tranny on my saturn went. I have been paying for the car, don't be fooled, 'daddy' only signed, lol. but now that im 18, i haveta see about changing the car over to my name.

Re: Did u know?
The RS/GS have a different engine than the GT/GTS. The RS/GS' 4G64 is a great engine to boost with. It has great cylinder volumetrics of .6L/cyl. Also, I am sure that you are aware of how great the 4G63 is, asfar as taking boost. Well, the 4G64 has the 4G63T's rods, and there are only 2 major differences between the 4G63 and 4G64. The 4G63 has an 85mm bore, the 4G64 has a 86.5mm bore, and the closed deck is .6mm higher in the 4G64, which accounts for the 9:1 Compression Ratio (CR).
And here is some more good news about the 4G64. The 4G63T's turbo manifold will bolt up to the engine as will the EVO's turbo manifold. I would suggest you use the EVO manifold as it more the turbo a couple more inches away from the AC compressor, so you can run a larger turbo without having to take out your AC. But the EVO manifold will require a 1 1/2 inch spacer and starter shield trmming to clear clear the starer properly. Also, the EVO's DOHC head will bolt up to the 4G64 and with that you should be able to raise your redlne just a little. With proper Air/Fuel tuning, you can run the 4G64 to about 15psi as a daily driver. That is a little on the high side, and I would suggest that if you do turbo, to run 11-12 psi. That will still give you a 300+whp/320+wtq car. Which is fast enough to put you into the low 13's or high 12's, if you have good driving skills. Suspension wise, the RS is the worst of the bunch. I don't know your budget, but can recommend some things. If you have money to spend and want the best for your car, get the Tein Super Street Damper w/ upper pilowball mounts and EDFC. If you do not have the $1700 for the Teins, get either the KYB AGX's or Tokico Illumina's paired with the Eibach Pro-Kit. Also get a Road/Race Engineering (RRE) rear strut tower bar. Finally, take a look at Suspension Techniques rear sway bar and put that on your car. The RRE reat strut tower bar is $70 and the rear sway bar is $150-160. |

thanks for the advice Fen I think thats what imma do since IM turning 19 soon I really need to start man. But the Eclipse is "technically" my moms car now lol it was mine and uh shes like idk she wants to get those lambo doors and get new wheels on it. Shes all into fast looking cars and crap so I could talk her into the turbo lol. I had NO idea the 4g64 is capable of so much. lol it almost sounds better then the 6g in the GT's besides the whole slapping on a Vr4 DOHC head on it. But any ways thanks yall. Oh and yeah the suspension does SUCK monkey balls.
