Lighting problem - and rim fitting question

Okay, a few days ago I got in the car, started it up, and flipped the headlights on (twas dark out) - however, for some reason the speedometer lighting and rpm lighting, etc, didn't come on. Along with the lighting for the cd player and heating/cooling stuff. The digital gas and heat meters came on along with the clock. The next day I checked EVERY fuse, yes EVERY fuse and all were fine. That night, it all worked fine. Tonight, however, the lights once again did not come on. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Loose wiring maybe? If so, is it usually hard to find the problem infested wires, and fix them? Is there some way to go about it other than tearing everything out and looking for a loose wire? Any help is extremely appriciated!
Also, I wanted to get a set of rims for this car. The car's stats are the same except instead of the rims being the stock size of 15x6, they would be 17x7 (10 holes universal 5 holes), and instead of a bolt pattern of 4x114.3, it is 5-100/5-114.3. Does anyone know if those rims would fit on my car??? Thanks for any help guys!

Re: Lighting problem - and rim fitting question

it probably worked again because you reseated the fuse. try that again, but instead of messing with every fuse, try finding the correct one:

if not...theres a short in one of the wires, and since you now know which wire and/or fuse could be the culprit, you'll have a much better chance of fixing it rather than checking every fuse and every wire.

97-01 Prelude, Vtech are 16x7 5x114.3. 17x7 would work fine. About the lighting. This sounds silly but is the knob that controls the brightness turned up?

Yeah, it's turned up . Thanks for the replies guys. I downloaded the manual off that ftp - it looks like it'll be helpful if it comes down to it. Thanks a bunch!
