Front End Noise - help please

Greetings, I have recently acquired a 95 toyota. The car is perfect except for one problem.

The front end of the car between the driver and passanger seats generates large noise and vibrates whenever i'm not accelerating. The noise goes away a bit when i push the front end really hard. It intensifies whenever i'm pushing the brakes.

I'm on a very tight budget. I would really appreciate it if some one would

1. identify the problem
2. estimate the cost of fixing
3. tell me whether it is necessary to fix it.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Front End Noise - help please

it's probably that your timings is off,
what you can do cheap is get the oil changed and the timing adjusted for about 70 bucks at speedy or jiffy lube, if that doesn't help then you should do a FULL tune-up... like replace spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributer cap, distributer rotor, pcv valce, air filter

don't know how to do this? you can pick up a repair manuel for less than 20 bucks from autozone or advanced auto parts
