Window Fog
Hi all,
Anyone know of a coating that Subaru uses on its Windsheilds that causes a white sheen when it's wet? My father in law had a legacy that did that and now he's got a Forrester with the same problem. I'm not sure I believe it but has anyone else had this type of problem? He says it's only when the wipers are on. Thanks! -Ben |

Re: Window Fog
Never had that problem with my Forester nor with either of my Impreza's, not the one I currently own nor my previous one.
Some waxes which are water based will turn whitish when they are wet with water, even after they have been dry for several months.

Re: Window Fog
Rain-X. They put Rain-X on the stupid windshield, inside and out, or something very similar. And they use way too much. They did it to me, too. And you have to use alcohol to get it off, but don't get the alcohol on anything but the windshield. Rain-X is good stuff, but only in very thin applications. Otherwise it makes ungodly glare on the windshield. But they put it on the outside to help visibility in the rain and on the inside to keep the windshield from getting foggy (go figure).
