No low end power...can you help me out?

Ok...my base has the 6G72 DOHC engine it in. So when i go to take off i have little power...then i get up to about 2500-3000 rpm i have alot off power and it kicks you back in to your seat. But befor that i dont have much...i feel like i should have more then that. I mean its a dog till 2500 rpm. So does anyone other then me have the same problem? Are they all that way? But hey...i still love my car...its just i feel like somethings wrong.
