Re: sr20ve or det

That's the most general question I've ever heard

That's like asking, "how much power will my car have if I put a turbo on it". Well it really can't be answered, you can get a turbo kit to give you however much power you want. You could make a turbo ve have 450whp, or you could make it have 210whp, just depends on your goals and the equipment you go with.

The only person who can answer that is you

Either one can get up to 400whp pretty easily, but it will be cheaper to get the det there. IMO the ve should only be used for NA freaks, if you want turbo it's just cheaper to go for big power with a det.

Re: sr20ve or det

Naturally Aspirated, it's when you don't have a turbo or supercharger

Re: sr20ve or det

just get a SR20DET. the SR20VET is much more money, and itll only have about 40 more hp if charged with a similar turbo to the SR20DET's factory one.

Re: sr20ve or det

The simple answer to your question is the stock SR20DET under stock boost makes 205hp.

An SR20DE with a DET turbo kit will make about 230hp(about 195-210whp) at stock boost.

An SR20VE with the same turbo kit as the DET will make about 290hp(about 260-70whp) under stock boost.

You can't boost it much higher thought without careful fuel map tuning, but by swapping out the pistons for lower compression ones, you can boost a bit more without worrying too much about the fuel map being perfect.
