rebuilt engine?
I am wondering when my engine goes (now at 109,000 miles), how much does it usually cost to rebuild an engine or get another one? Should i get another vehicle now and drive it (put less miles on my eclipse) while i am modding out the eclipse to save it? The cheaper route is what, for a new vehicle looking at 5K for one.

Re: rebuilt engine?
Getting another vehicle won't save your eclipse any longer because it will last less and less miles with more power. 5k is a lot for a rebuild or a new engine completely still, the rebuild shouldn't be that expensive. You'll have to ask a reputable shop what they will charge.

Re: rebuilt engine?
all right thanks...just been wondering about it, cause i am looking for a toyota tacoma now...something that will last for a while so when this car does go i will have something for backup while it is getting repaired...if i don't drive it that hard...how long should it last, my only racing times is maybe once a month at a street light or when i see a ricer and in nebraska that isn't very much

Re: rebuilt engine?
It could still last a long time, depending how it runs now you could probably estimate. I'm just saying if you modify the eclipse more and only use it for racing, you won't be saving it any more than driving it daily.

Re: rebuilt engine?
true true, i don't plan on racing it...i just want to have the power there when i need it! Ahh decisions suck, just another question would you choose big 16g or evo16?

Re: rebuilt engine?
Probably the EVO since the price is so close now.
