Question New Cavalier

I am new to the forum and I have a question. Right now I drive a '97 automatic 4 door Cavalier. I will be getting a '96 Cavalier manual 2 door, is it worth it to buy the Z24 2.4L model or just stick with the Base 2.2L. Any help on this would be greatful.

Re: New Cavalier

If your going to customize the exterior, bodykit, lowering spring, ect.. then your best bet is the RS it has the 2.4L engine, suspension, pretty much everything the z24 does except the z24 ground effects package and costs less

Re: New Cavalier

I probably should have mentioned that my cavalier is going to be a sleeper car, I will be upgrading suspension, engine performance, exhaust and intake. I will also be adding some Carbon Fiber parts(hood, fenders etc.) to my car as well, I just needed a place to start

i have a 98 Z24, and i upgraded from a 92 Z24, i would never drive the RS base models, they a better all the way around. They also are fully loaded vs the RS. The ponys also are a bonus!!!

Re: New Cavalier

well, the z24 is nice if all you plan are minor mods, but if your looking for serious tuning potential, get a 98 cavalier, the 2200 OHV has way more tunning potential than the 2.2l OHC or the Z24
