% cav 5sp From auto... will it affect rev limiter

I changed the transmission to a 5 speed from an automatic.(better gears for our track) I had to plug in the sensor from the auto to fool the computer into thinking it was in park so the engine would turn over. Is this going to affect my rev limiter and how do I get around that. Thanks

depending on your year, you can go to a gm dealer ship and they can flash program your ECM to work with the 5 speed
